  • With “HESTEN OG PLYSEN” (The Horse and the Chaos), VEVFT aims to provide a platform for six artists who bring diverse perspectives and approaches into the same space. We invite them to engage in a dialogue with Innvik Gamle Ullvarefabrikk (Old weaving mill in Innvik)—a historical setting where order and structure once defined production, but which now serves as a place to explore creative chaos.

The exhibition is about the encounter between what has been and what could be: the factory’s history meets today’s more exploratory and unpredictable approaches. The Norwegian term “plysen”—a state of messiness, confusion, and clumsiness—reflects the processes often underlying experimental art and design. Here, we encourage the artists to find a balance between chaos and control, between old structures and new, unexpected forms of expression. The result is an exhibition that not only honors history, but also promotes a freer, more experimental approach to textile art and craft.
