VEVFT is a Production and Knowledge Center for Digital Weaving. Providing guidance, courses, development, and production of textile art for artists and designers.

Project Development

Our access to industrial and smaller digital looms allows us to undertake works on both a larger and smaller scale. With our extensive experience in textile art production and collaborative making, we can guide the process, from sketch and material samples to the finished artwork, finding the best solutions, tailored towards the individual artist’s needs.

In recent years, more artists have adopted jacquard weaving as a tool for artistic production. VEVFT was established in 2023 to facilitate that production while also preserving and developing the field of digital weaving in Norway through our collaboration with textile manufacturer Innvik AS.

Rent tc-2 loom

We rent out our TC-2 loom to weavers in Bergen. Our 75-square-meter studio is located in the city centre. You can use the registration form to book an appointment for your project.

Before submitting your request, please check the calendar to see when the loom is unavailable. The calendar only shows unavailable dates—you must manually enter your preferred dates in the application form. You cannot book directly through the calendar; the administrator must confirm all dates. A confirmation email will be sent after your request is processed.

We invoice a couple of weeks in advance for the rental period. The rental price covers access to the loom but does not include supervision. The weaver must be able to work independently. If you require assistance, please discuss the necessary time in advance. There is also an option for private classes, but this must be agreed upon beforehand.

Technical specifications of the setup on the loom:

  • Width in the loom - 110 cm

  • The warp is 28/2 Nm wool (in white/black)

  • There are 24 threads per cm in the warp, a total of 2640 threads

  • There is a possibility to make tea/coffee in the studio

  • The price is 1700 NOK (+VAT) per day (24-hour availability)

  • The minimum number of days: 3

  • The price for assistance/teaching is 950 NOK per hour.
